چکیده
Purpose: Heat cure methyl methacrylate has been the denture base material of choice for fabrication conventional complete dentures and transitional removable partial dentures. One factors that cause fracture is considered to be low resistance impact, flexural or fatigue. However, repaired with auto-polymerizing acrylic resin alone often experience a re-fracture at site. This study aimed evaluate strength heat polymerized different reinforcing materials.
Methods: 48 samples were prepared divided into four groups. 12 as controls, 36 3 experimental The sectioned two halves from middle, then rapid repair material, material. Each group was 4 subgroups: unreinforced, reinforced metal wire, mesh, glass fiber. All specimens subjected 3-point bending test, calculated. Results: all reinforcement groups namely Stainless steel mesh fiber improves cured had greatest when compared other

Variations in Flexural Strength of Heat-polymerized Acrylic Resin after the Usage of Denture Cleansers.
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare changes in the flexural strength of heat-cured denture base resins when treated using denture cleansers. STUDY DESIGN A total of 40 specimens with dimension 65 mm length, 10 mm width, and 3 mm thickness were prepared as per ISO 1567 specification. A total of 10 specimens were immersed in distilled water to be used as control. O...
متن کاملFlexural Strength of Acrylic Resins Polymerized by Different Cycles
Despite the large number of studies addressing the effect of microwave polymerization on the properties of acrylic resin, this method has received limited clinical acceptance. This study evaluated the influence of microwave polymerization on the flexural strength of a denture base resin. A conventional heat-polymerized (Clássico), a microwave-polymerized (Onda-Cryl) and a autopolymerizing acryl...

Received: 15 October 2006 Accepted: 16 May 2007 Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the transverse strength of one brand of denture base material repaired with two autopolymerized acrylic resins with and without wire reinforcement. Materials and Methods: Eighty samples (2.5×10×65 mm) were fabricated and divided into five groups. The control group was left intact. Grou...
متن کاملflexural strength of cold and heat cure acrylic resins reinforced with different materials
o bjectives: heat-polymerized acrylic resin has been the most commonly used denture base material for over 60 years. however, the mechanical strength of acrylic resin is not adequate for long-term clinical performance of dentures. consequently, fracture is a com- mon clinical occurrence, which often occurs in the midline of denture base.this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of cold cure and...
متن کاملEffect of Zirconium Oxide Nano-Fillers Addition on the Flexural Strength, Fracture Toughness, and Hardness of Heat-Polymerized Acrylic Resin
Purpose: The mechanical strength of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) remains far from ideal for maintaining the longevity of denture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Zirconium oxide (ZrO2) nanofillers powder with different concentration (1.5%, 3%, 5% and 7%) on the flexural strength, fracture toughness, and hardness of heat-polymerized acrylic resin. Materials and methods:...
